Requirements
  • Six to twelve months of experience in industrial construction.
  • Familiarity with the industrial construction project environment.
  • Ability to pass a drug test mandated by the company and Department of Transportation anti-drug program.
  • Must attend and successfully complete company safety training.
  • Ability to wear fire-resistant clothing.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds, climb 30-foot ladders, work at heights of at least 20 feet, maintain balance on catwalks and narrow workspaces, and stand for long periods.
  • Ability to work 60 or more hours each week.
  • Reading comprehension sufficient to understand work orders, written instructions, technical manuals, safety procedures, and parts catalogs.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Ability to exchange routine and technical information orally with coworkers, supervisors, and other personnel.
  • Ability to use hand signals and evaluate work conditions and quality to make decisions regarding courses of action.
  • Ability to understand, remember, and carry out oral and written directions.
  • Ability to cooperate with coworkers, supervisors, and members of other crafts.
  • Ability to work under time pressure and take necessary safety precautions.
  • Ability to work in awkward or confining workspaces, high places, outdoor, noisy, dirty, and air-contaminated environments.
  • Ability to respond to requests for overtime when conditions warrant and when directed by management.
Responsibilities
  • Assist with general construction tasks while following appropriate safety procedures.
  • Move materials, tools, and equipment manually and use hand tools and power tools.
  • Clean work areas and perform safety-related duties.
  • Follow job-related instructions and perform other duties requested by a supervisor or designated representative.
  • Work in operating facilities while observing additional safety policies and procedures.
  • Perform wire pulling.
  • Perform spotter work by providing guidance and safety awareness for drivers and equipment operators.
  • Promote awareness of environmental, health, and safety policies and ensure compliance with company policies.
  • Attend safety meetings, specialty training, and other training classes as directed by management.
  • Conduct safety checks and safety meetings as required.
