Requirements
  • A high school diploma or General Educational Development certificate is required.
  • Must be a Certified Nursing Assistant, a nursing student who has completed one medical-surgical clinical rotation, have three months of clinical care experience, or be a graduate of Winchester Hospital’s Clinical Associate Training Program.
  • Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English with patients, visitors, and hospital team members.
  • Basic computer knowledge is required.
  • Basic Life Support certification is required.
  • All staff must be vaccinated against influenza as a condition of employment.
Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical and administrative assistance on the unit.
  • Perform basic procedures necessary for patient care, comfort, and safety, including assisting with activities of daily living, ambulating patients, making occupied and unoccupied beds, transporting patients, collecting, labeling, and transporting specimens, obtaining vital signs, and performing electrocardiograms.
  • Welcome and orient patients, family members, and significant others to the environment.
  • Provide administrative support for the unit and staff so the patient care team can focus on patient care.
  • Maintain accurate and complete patient medical charts, including forms needed for daily use.
  • Copy and fax paperwork as necessary to expedite the patient care process among hospital departments and appropriate outside sources.
Desired Qualifications
  • At least one year of previous work experience in an administrative support role.
  • Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Beth Israel Lahey Health rolls out Heidi's AI scribing to all physicians after 90% report better patient presence

Beth Israel Lahey Health is rolling out Heidi's ambient AI scribing tool to all its physicians following a successful trial across its facilities. The health system, which serves over 6,000 providers across 14 hospitals and 175 primary care practices, prioritises addressing physician burnout, with nearly half of US physicians reporting burnout. During a six-month trial offering Heidi to 1,000 providers, the majority adopted the technology. Survey results showed 89% were satisfied with note quality, 90% felt more present with patients, 74% reduced after-hours work time, and 82% experienced reduced cognitive load during visits. The implementation demonstrates how ambient AI can deliver immediate relief to physicians whilst benefiting patients and the healthcare system. Heidi supports over 2 million consultations weekly globally and has raised $96.6 million from investors including Point72 Private Investments and Blackbird.
