- A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
- Previous experience working in community outreach, customer relations, and/or community-based programs is required.
- Previous experience working and communicating with people on a one-to-one basis is required.
- Dependable transportation, a Texas driver's license, and auto liability insurance are required.
- The ability to perform the essential functions of the position and meet attendance requirements is required.
- The ability to lift up to 20 pounds unassisted is required.
- The ability to deliver excellent customer service internally and externally is required.
- Perform outreach in the community at homes through door-to-door interaction, schools, churches, agency sites, and health fairs.
- Develop and implement effective outreach strategies.
- Follow up with clients through phone, mail, and door-to-door contact.
- Monitor, document, and report on the effectiveness of outreach strategies, client interactions, and activities.
- Participate in community meetings and events to represent the organization.
- Post informational posters, flyers, and brochures at local stores, community centers, schools, and churches.
- Maintain knowledge of programs, community resources, and services available to clients and patients.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bilingual English and Spanish communication ability is preferred.
CentroMed is a non-profit Federally Qualified Health Center providing primary care, dental, behavioral health, women's health, pediatrics, and HIV/AIDS care across more than 20 sites in the San Antonio area. Its services are designed for underserved and low-income residents, with care available regardless of ability to pay, funded by program service fees, federal grants, and private contributions, and it accepts Medicare and Medicaid. The organization began in 1971 as a counseling program and expanded over the years to medical, dental, and OB-Gyn/perinatal clinics, building partnerships with local health systems to extend access. CentroMed aims to increase access to affordable, comprehensive healthcare through a network of clinics and community partnerships, serving a broad client base including families, homeless individuals, and vulnerable populations.
