Requirements
  • 5+ years supervising self-perform civil/grading crews in earthwork, grading, roads, drainage, and foundations.
  • Strong safety leadership, including OSHA and site rules, job hazard analyses, cranes and lifts, Department of Transportation regulations, telehandlers, and incident management.
  • Proven field planning and cost and schedule control across labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors.
  • Quality assurance and quality control execution experience, with the ability to read specifications and drawings and align work to the project plan.
  • Valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • Willingness to travel 100% with rotations.
Responsibilities
  • Lead Assistant Superintendents, Forepersons, craft workers, and subcontractors; set direction and coach them.
  • Own field safety by enforcing regulations, leading orientations and job hazard analyses, managing lifts, Department of Transportation requirements, and telehandlers, and managing incidents.
  • Plan and schedule labor, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to meet productivity and cost targets.
  • Track field cost and schedule against estimates, flag risks and variances, and resolve issues quickly with the Site Manager.
  • Drive quality according to the Project Quality Plan and Blattner standards, and set specifications and craftsmanship expectations for craft workers and subcontractors.
  • Partner with the Site Manager and other superintendents, and support owner communications and negotiations.
Desired Qualifications
  • Utility-scale experience in mass grading, roads/drainage, erosion control, and foundations.
  • History of developing frontline leaders and mentoring Field Engineers and Foremen.
  • Confidence in owner-facing updates.
  • Experience implementing and coaching safety programs.
  • Four-year degree in a construction or engineering-related field.
