Requirements
  • Nursing students must have prospective Spring, Summer, or Winter graduation dates and be eligible to sit for the NCLEX and obtain licensure before the internship starts.
  • Experienced registered nurses must have less than one year of experience in the specialty to which they are applying.
  • Candidates for Critical Care must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.2 at application or a confirmed senior practicum in an intensive care unit.
  • Candidates for Emergency Department must have a minimum overall GPA of 3.2 at application, a confirmed senior practicum in an Emergency Department, or experience working in an Emergency Department or prehospital care.
  • Candidates must maintain current Basic Life Support certification.
  • Candidates must hold a current Registered Nurse license to practice in Pennsylvania or New Jersey for the Warren Campus.
  • Candidates must meet the stated physical and sensory requirements, including standing, walking, lifting, transporting patients, bending, reaching, and the ability to perceive, hear, and see as specified.
Responsibilities
  • Provide nursing care to critically ill patients through the nursing process, including assessing, planning, implementing, coordinating, evaluating, and documenting care.
  • Work cooperatively with ancillary, nursing, and other patient-team personnel to maintain professional nursing practice standards.
  • Maintain confidentiality of materials handled within the network and ensure proper release of information.
  • Demonstrate the network’s service excellence standards in interactions with internal and external customers.
  • Comply with network and departmental attendance and dress-code policies.
  • Demonstrate competency in assessment, treatment range, growth and development knowledge, and age-appropriate patient communication.
