About the Job

Requirements

Knowledge of Public Service Vehicle (PSV) and Heavy Goods Vehicle (HGV) maintenance with recognized qualifications, such as a Level 3 National Vocational Qualification (NVQ).
Ability to work safely and unsupervised to preset standards and guidelines.

Responsibilities

Service and repair Arriva vehicles to Arriva and Driver and Vehicle Standards Agency (DVSA) standards.
Continuously improve vehicle standards.
Prepare vehicles for Ministry of Transport (MOT) testing.
Diagnose vehicle faults and ensure reliability and maintenance are maintained to Arriva standards.
Work five shifts over seven days, Sunday to Saturday, between 05:00 and 17:30.

Desired Qualifications

Electrical knowledge.
A Passenger Carrying Vehicle (PCV) license.
Inspection of vehicles for scheduled maintenance, with IRTEC accreditation favourable.

An excellent and rewarding job opportunity has arisen for an experienced and ambitious individual to join our Rhyl garage as a Shift Fitter reporting directly to the Engineering Manager, whilst maintaining the fleet of PCV vehicles.

The role will involve:

Servicing and repairs to Arriva and DVSA standards.
Continuous improvement of vehicle standards
MOT preparation
Vehicle fault diagnosis and ensuring reliability and maintenance is kept to Arriva Standards (Higher than DVSA)
Shifts are 5 over 7 Sunday to Saturday, shifts between 05.00 and 17.30

Requirements:

Knowledge of PSV/HGV maintenance with recognised qualifications (E.G level 3 NVQ)
Can work safely and unsupervised to pre-set standards and guidelines
Electrical knowledge is desirable but not necessary
A PCV license is desirable but not necessary
Inspection of vehicles for the scheduled maintenance (training can be provided) with IRTEC accreditation favourable
