Internship Program Overview
At ServiceNow, we’re looking for students who want to learn, grow, and take a giant step early in their careers, all while making a giant impact. We offer 12-week summer internship opportunities across various business functions.
Interns will participate in executive speaker series, career development workshops, philanthropic efforts, and team-building activities. Additionally, interns will have access to online learnings and a dedicated Summer Coach to further grow their careers with us.

Application Engineering (Full Stack)
- Developing across the full stack of Web technologies - JavaScript, Angular.js, React, HTML, CSS, and SQL
- Build report interfaces and data feeds
- Working in a Scrum-based Agile development process that is light on documentation and meetings and heavy on coding
- Designing and implement software that is simple, intuitive and easy to use that will allow customers to extend and customize the functionality to meet their specific business needs
Machine Learning
- Design the natural language processing components of ServiceNow NLU capabilities by enhancing core deep learning algorithms
- Participate in data collection, creating benchmarks, etc
- Develop innovative patentable ideas that ensure the competitiveness of this product within the domain of similar work being done in the industry
- Advance the natural language capabilities of the ServiceNow platform
Platform Engineering (Full Stack and Back End)
- As a Software Engineering Intern, you will have the opportunity to become a key member of the Cloud Platform Development group. You will be mentored in the necessary skills to become successful contributors to the team.
- You will join the development Scrum team as any other team member and work side by side with them to solve real business problems
- You will be writing, debugging and testing using a mix of JavaScript and server-side Java
- Implement web interfaces using JavaScript frameworks like React, Angular and CSS
Systems Engineering
- You will be a member of a strong team of developers working to build highly scalable Cloud Infrastructure Automation
- Solve tough technical challenges in a high energy environment with experienced industry leaders and with a highly collaborative team
- Develop in Python, JavaScript, or Go in order to help build services and automation tools which are thoroughly specified, documented, and testable
- Preferred: experience with Linux, networking, and/or container technologies
UI/UX Engineering (Front End)
- Build highly interactive web-based application UIs that can scale with application complexity
- Create tools, libraries, and frameworks for other developers to build upon
- Full lifecycle responsibility for software development from requirements and design to coding and ensuring a high degree of quality through testing and automation
Qualifications
Qualifications
- Currently enrolled in an accredited university as a full-time student, pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Computer Science, or a related field
- Graduating December 2025, or later
- Ability to obtain and maintain work authorization
- Commit to a 12-week internship in Summer 2025 (May-August, or, June-September)
- Experience with languages such as Java, C++, Javascript, Python, or HTML/CSS
- High levels of creativity and quick problem-solving capabilities
- Preferred: Demonstrated software engineering experience from previous internship, academic or personal projects, coding competitions, or publications

For positions in the Bay Area, we offer a base pay of $53.13 - $55.58, plus equity (when applicable), variable/incentive compensation and benefits. Sales positions generally offer a competitive On Target Earnings (OTE) incentive compensation structure. Please note that the base pay shown is a guideline, and individual total compensation will vary based on factors such as qualifications, skill level, competencies and work location. We also offer health plans, including flexible spending accounts, a 401(k) Plan with company match, ESPP, matching donations, a flexible time away plan and family leave programs (subject to eligibility requirements). Compensation is based on the geographic location in which the role is located, and is subject to change based on work location.
