Requirements
  • Generac Master Technician certification or equivalent certification and training.
  • High-level expertise with switchgear.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Ability to manage a team of technicians.
  • Fluency in written and spoken English.
  • Ability to read and interpret safety rules and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.

  • Ability to lift and carry objects weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and near moving mechanical parts.
  • Ability to pass a criminal background check, pre-employment drug screen, motor vehicle record check, and Department of Transportation physical examination.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise and direct assigned service technicians within the geographic territory.
  • Evaluate performance, provide coaching and feedback, and develop training programs to improve assigned technicians’ technical knowledge and performance.
  • Identify and assign team members to provide field support and mentorship to other service technicians.
  • Partner with the Service Director to resolve employee performance or behavioral issues and determine staffing needs.
  • Participate in recruiting and hiring field service technicians.
  • Serve as the first point of contact for phone and field support, including troubleshooting, emergency repair assistance, and parts delivery, escalating complex issues to the Service Director as needed.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance, emergency maintenance, startup, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of generators and related equipment, including Bypass Isolation automatic transfer switches.
  • Make pre-startup site visits to advise and assist installing contractors.
  • Lead safety initiatives and oversee technicians in the assigned geography, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
  • Execute quality control programs within the assigned geographic territory, implement quality control procedures, and ensure proper documentation.
  • Support the Service Manager in reviewing work orders at all stages of project execution.
  • Drive and promote continuous improvement of field operations.
  • Provide customer-focused support to enhance customer relationships and resolve concerns.
  • Support planning and quoting of complex service projects.
  • Assist the Service Director with Generac warranty process administration.
  • Advise the service operations team on the time and materials needed for various service levels.
  • Provide after-hours emergency response support as needed.
  • Work from home in a remote position.
  • Travel overnight occasionally.
  • Lift and carry heavy objects, ascend and descend ladders or scaffolding, work in restricted spaces, operate machinery controls, drive or sit for extended periods, and use computers while meeting required vision standards.
