- Successful completion of a Wellness Training and Restorative Nursing Class.
- Manage and maintain residents’ wellness and restorative nursing programs and report any changes to the treatment plan.
- Conduct exercise groups that meet the Minimum Data Set criteria for restorative nursing and document the care provided.
- Maintain specialized equipment, including alarms, cushions, and wheelchairs.
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team by planning and anticipating residents’ long-term and short-term needs regarding admission and discharge.
- Certification as a Nursing Assistant in good standing on the state nursing assistant registry or appropriate entity.
- Hospital or nursing home experience.
- Basic Life Support certification.
- If leading the activities program, meet the federal regulatory qualifications under §483.15(f)(2), including qualification as a therapeutic recreation specialist or activities professional, occupational therapist or occupational therapy assistant, or completion of a state-approved training course; alternatively, qualify through the specified state registration or certification eligibility and social or recreational program experience.
