Requirements
  • A Bachelor's degree in Web Design or a related field, such as Computer Science or Communications with an emphasis on Web Design, from an accredited university, or an Associate's degree with two years of experience.
  • One year in the field beyond experience equivalent to a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree.
  • Experience ensuring that design and development meet Section 508 Accessibility standards and other applicable Federal website publishing standards.
  • United States citizenship.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office products, including Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Publisher, and Adobe.
  • Eligibility for a Facility Access Authorization, also referred to as an Employment Authorization, from the designated United States Government security office.
  • Ability to submit to and qualify for varying levels of background investigative requirements, up to a Top Secret or Department of Energy Q clearance.
  • Ability to complete a Financial Disclosure Statement if required.
Responsibilities
  • Coordinate with CAMI website authorities to plan and execute website development activities, including designing website interfaces for planned and existing desktop applications such as GCEM, CARI-6, CARI-7, their successors, and related products.
  • Create accessible and easily navigable webpages, including designing and developing webpages to disseminate and communicate agency research and program information to internal and external audiences via the internet.
  • Provide source code and ensure webpages meet Section 508 Accessibility standards and other applicable Federal website publishing standards.
  • Assess and analyze website performance, conduct usability testing and quality assurance, and document the standards used for development.
  • Interact with the CAMI Webmaster, CAMI IT Liaison, and non-FAA partners to plan, exchange information, research, evaluate, design, and implement new web and multimedia interfaces and devise improvements to existing web systems.
  • Contribute to web design efforts with emphasis on the technical interactivity, functionality, and usefulness of websites by creating, editing, and efficiently arranging materials into a cohesive end-user experience.
  • Make recommendations regarding the design of existing websites and planned website developments based on existing and emerging technology.
