A Community Health Representative certificate or related health care certificate is required; a combination of education and experience may be considered.
Basic computer skills are required.
A valid First Aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation certification and Safe Food Handling Certificate are required, or the candidate must be willing to obtain them.
The candidate must have strong organizational skills and be able to work within a multidisciplinary team.
The candidate must have a valid driver's license.
Responsibilities
Assist health staff in delivering health care services and contribute to the health team through health advocacy, health promotion, and illness prevention.
Act as a liaison between community members and LLRIBHS staff and health programs.
Assist in delivering health programs by obtaining consents, transporting community members, booking Child Health Clinics, and participating in community health fairs, events, and activities.
Carry out health promotion programs by planning workshops, in-service sessions, and community education events, and developing public awareness materials.
Desired Qualifications
The ability to speak and understand Cree is an asset.
Experience working with First Nations communities is an asset.
