Evans is a data platform and enterprise analytics executive with extensive experience helping defense customers put cloud-based analytics to work and adopt technologies such as open architectures, machine learning and DevSecOps. In the new role, he will focus on helping defense, space and national security clients field new capabilities faster by leveraging mission, technology, program delivery and growth functions. What experience does Evans bring? Evans spent more than 16 years at Booz Allen Hamilton before joining LMI. He most recently served as senior vice president in the company's defense technology group, overseeing artificial intelligence and platform work for senior defense customers throughout the enterprise. He also served as vice president, principal and director. He joined Booz Allen in 2010 as a senior associate, a role he held for more than nine years. During his tenure at Booz Allen, his work covered AI, enterprise analytics, rapid software development and reusable products for national security missions, as well as enterprise architecture, agile development, DevOps and data science. Evans pointed to LMI's SHEPRD threat management tool as an example of the company's approach to developing defense technology when announcing his appointment. He said SHEPRD brought threat data, asset locations, terrain and protection coverage together in a real-time common operating picture during Ivy Sting. The tool, which was recently launched at the Department of War Chief Digital and Artificial Intelligence Office's Tradewinds Solutions Marketplace, was built alongside soldiers and refined under real-world conditions. SHEPRD was also part of LMI's rapid development work for the Army's Next Generation Command and Control environment, providing a direct example of the type of defense technology Evans will oversee as president of national security. Who is David Acton? Before joining RIVA, Acton was CFO at defense information technology firm ISI. He served the same role for seven years at Suntiva, which has since been acquired by LMI, as well as at companies including Navstar, Johnston McLamb and Edge Technologies. He briefly served as CFO and COO at Avant-Garde Technology Solutions from 2008 to 2009. Acton worked as vice president of finance at SiloSmashers and A-TEK.
