Solidcore opening A Decatur location at Lulah Hills. The spot will open in 2027. It will join existing locations in Avalon, Buckhead, Madison Yards, Midtown, Perimeter and Peachtree Corners. Solidcore offers a fitness strategy focused on muscular endurance rather than simply muscular strength, opting for training that produces fatigue resistance through targeting slow twitch muscle fibers. It focuses on high-intensity, low-impact workouts. Different class offerings concentrate on different parts of the body, such as the core, obliques, lower body and upper body. Solidcore currently has more than 150 locations across the U.S. The brand will join other tenants heading to the development, including LaserAway, Anthropologie, Firepit Pizza Tavern, Honeysuckle Gelato and Refuge Coffee. Solidcore opens first Alabama location at The Summit. Solidcore, a national Pilates brand based in Virginia, has opened its first Alabama location at 333 Summit Blvd., near REI at The Summit in Birmingham. The studio offers 50-minute, high-intensity, low-impact workouts using resistance-based reformers, with routines set to intense music and blue neon lighting. The workout is designed to target the core, shoulders, quads and hamstrings, and can be adjusted for all fitness levels. The opening is part of Solidcore's ongoing nationwide expansion to more than 150 studios. Michelle Engel, a certified executive coach and wellness enthusiast who most recently served as chief people officer at Clarvida and CHRO at Evolent Health, will become Solidcore's chief people officer on September 15.
Solidcore plans to open two new locations in the Dallas-Fort Worth area in the summer of 2025.
