About the company

Hack The Box builds a platform for practical cybersecurity learning and recruitment. It provides a library of hands-on labs, gamified challenges, and capture-the-flag exercises that users can access through a freemium model—free for basic content with paid upgrades for advanced features. Users practice real-world security tasks in controlled environments, improving skills by doing rather than reading. The platform also serves as a talent pipeline, helping businesses identify and recruit cybersecurity professionals from a pool of proven, practical skills. What makes HTB stand out is its gamified approach (labs, CTFs, and features like Hacker of the Month) that makes learning engaging and goal-oriented. Ultimately, HTB aims to educate individuals, support organizations in strengthening their security teams, and connect skilled practitioners with employers.

  • HTB launched Threat Range in March 2026 for executive breach simulations.
  • HTB AI Range and the August 2026 benchmark validate demand for agentic AI readiness.
  • CTO Konstantinos Dolkas and CMO Christine Bartlett should accelerate enterprise and government sales.

What critics are saying

  • October 12, 2026 Academy price hikes hit students and Gold users hard.
  • TryHackMe, Immersive, and SimSpace compress HTB's differentiation with adjacent enterprise ranges.
  • If AI security training commoditizes, HTB's community moat weakens and enterprise pricing erodes.

  • Forrester named HTB a 2026 Leader for agentic AI readiness and gamification.

Hack The Box launches AI Range Enterprise to test cybersecurity AI agent competence

Hack The Box has launched AI Range Enterprise Edition, a platform enabling organisations to test and measure the effectiveness of AI security agents in performing assigned cybersecurity roles. The offering allows companies to evaluate AI agent performance against defined job roles in controlled cyber environments. The platform introduces two key features: Agentic Worker Competence, which appraises AI agents against specific cybersecurity roles, and Agentic Operator Competence Scoring, which evaluates whether cybersecurity professionals can effectively oversee AI agents' work and intervene when necessary. HTB first introduced AI Range in December 2025. The enterprise edition builds on testing by AI labs, government customers, and hyperscalers. The platform provides role-based scores and tracks performance over time as agents, models, and operating conditions change. Hack The Box was named a Leader in The Forrester Wave for Cybersecurity Skills and Training Platforms in Q1 2026.
