Requirements
  • Must possess a valid Life, Health, and Accident License.
  • Minimum of 5 to 10 years of industry experience, including specific knowledge of medical benefits and ancillary lines of coverage.
  • Significant understanding of self-funding mechanisms, including the ability to interpret and present data from analysts and carrier renewals.
  • Technical proficiency in all components of a benefits program, including self-funding and various carrier solutions.
  • Strong sales aptitude with the ability to identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities.
  • Ability to work independently as a self-starter with minimal oversight.
  • Knowledge of regulatory requirements including Healthcare Reform, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act, and Consolidated Omnibus Budget Reconciliation Act.
Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary relationship contact for an assigned book of business valued between $750,000 and $2,000,000.
  • Collaborate with Sales and Business Development teams to achieve Total Account Selling goals and meet individual cross-selling and up-selling objectives.
  • Develop, lead, and execute account strategies and annual service plans including stewardship, pre-renewal, and policy delivery components.
  • Direct and implement cost-effective benefit solutions and oversee claims and loss control for assigned accounts.
  • Manage the new client onboarding process by verifying services sold, establishing expectations, and creating long-term service plans.
  • Oversee support team activities, including the creation of annual service calendars and meeting deliverables.
  • Review and approve all client deliverables such as pre-renewal projections, market evaluations, pricing summaries, and open enrollment materials.
  • Initiate and manage renewal negotiations with insurance carriers.
  • Train and develop support staff in operational activities, industry knowledge, and technical skills.
  • Maintain accurate client data within the Customer Relationship Management system, including information on business owners and executive staff.
  • Conduct client meetings and ensure action items are documented and assigned for execution.
  • Formulate and execute integrated health management strategies customized to specific client needs.
