Who You Are 

We are seeking a talented and experienced Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer to join our growing team. We are seeking candidates with expertise primarily in React (this will be a frontend-leaning role) and also in Python. As a Senior Full-Stack Software Engineer at Spot & Tango, you will play a pivotal role in building scalable web applications for our customers and for internal company use. You will also play a leadership role on the team, mentoring and helping to upskill more junior colleagues within the engineering function.

Responsibilities:

• Own the front-end code bases and processes
• Play a lead role designing and building new features for our core products, primarily using React, React Native and Django
• Ensure high code quality by conducting thorough testing prior to integration
• Collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure web applications achieve their business goals
• Optimize applications for maximum performance and responsiveness, especially on mobile devices
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve software defects and issues
• Implement security best practices to ensure the integrity and confidentiality of user data
• Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry trends, and apply them to enhance our products
• Participate in code reviews to maintain code quality and ensure compliance with coding standards
• Contribute to the development of technical documentation and knowledge sharing within the team
• Help us scale the company, the culture, and our products

Qualifications:

• BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field strongly preferred
• 5 years of professional experience as a Full-Stack Software Engineer
• Proficiency in React or React Native, with a strong portfolio showcasing your work
• Familiarity with Django and Python
• Experience in developing and deploying web applications
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs and third-party integrations
• Expert understanding of front-end technologies such as HTML, CSS, and TypeScript
• Experience using Storybook for FE component standardization
• Solid SQL database design and management skills
• Experience with AWS services preferred
• Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git)
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team
• Experience working in a startup environment, and familiarity with DTC (Direct-to- Consumer) business models and e-commerce is a plus
• Ability to find simple solutions to complex problems
• Excellent communication skills
• Dog lovers a plus!
