To enhance resilience US Army awards leases for energy projects at six installations.

To enhance resilience US Army awards leases for energy projects at six installations. The U.S. Army announced conditional awards of long-term land leases to three private firms in September 2026 to develop commercial power projects at six Army sites. These projects are designed to boost energy resilience and on-site power capacity at the installations. Development is expected to begin around 2027, with initial operations by 2030. The initiative supports national defense goals, American industry, and more reliable power systems for mission-critical readiness by leveraging underused Army land and the Enhanced Use Lease procurement authority. Under the Army's Strategic Capital Initiative, Ameresco will develop projects at Aberdeen Proving Ground (Maryland) and Picatinny Arsenal (New Jersey), Indelible-Bloom at Fort Detrick (Maryland), Letterkenny Army Depot (Pennsylvania) and West Point (New York), and Frontier Power USA at Tobyhanna Army Depot (Pennsylvania). Ameresco plans to install natural-gas generators at Aberdeen first, followed by a Terrestrial Energy molten-salt microreactor phase, and advanced microreactors/SMRs at Picatinny. Frontier Power USA will pair U.S.-made battery storage with compliant backup generation at Tobyhanna. Indelible-Bloom will use Bloom Energy's fuel-cell technology to provide reliable on-site power at its sites. According to company officials, these projects "deploy resilient, on-site energy infrastructure that strengthens mission readiness and enhances energy security". The leases are structured under 10 U.S.C. § 2667 as Enhanced Use Leases, meaning the Army remains landlord while the developers finance, build, operate and eventually decommission the plants. Lease terms are roughly 50 years. Lessees pay market-rate rent, typically in the form of in-kind infrastructure improvements rather than cash. A bond ensures land restoration when leases expire. Crucially, each facility must meet strict resilience standards. If the civilian grid fails, the plant must be able to island and supply its host installation continuously for at least 14 days. In normal operation, the projects will sell power into the regional grid and serve their bases during outages. All projects will undergo full NEPA and regulatory review before construction. The selected locations and technologies are compatible with base missions. The new generation capacity is low-emissions compared to diesel backups and aligns with U.S. energy security objectives. Army leaders note that on-site generation provides vital backup power to ensure mission success and promotes "American energy dominance". Ameresco said the projects "advance energy resilience across critical military installations", Frontier cited "mission-ready power at scale", and Indelible-Bloom emphasized bringing "dependable energy" to bases. These six conditional leases mark a strategic shift toward public-private investment in base energy infrastructure. Without new government funding, the Army gains modern power capacity and improved security. The projects will directly benefit Aberdeen, Picatinny, Fort Detrick, Letterkenny, West Point and Tobyhanna by upgrading utilities, adding megawatts of grid and on-site power and ensuring resilient electricity for critical missions.

Ameresco announces CFO departure.

Ameresco announces CFO departure. Ameresco announces CFO departure and reaffirms 2026 financial guidance. Ameresco, Inc. (NYSE: AMRC), a leading energy infrastructure company focused on delivering sustainable energy solutions and infrastructure services, announced that Mark Chiplock will step down from his position as Chief Financial Officer, effective September 25, 2026. Chiplock is leaving the company to take on a chief financial officer role at a private equity-owned company operating in a different industry. The leadership change comes as Ameresco continues to expand its energy infrastructure business and execute on a range of projects supporting energy efficiency, renewable energy, distributed energy resources and other infrastructure needs. Despite the upcoming change in its finance leadership, the company reaffirmed its previously issued financial outlook for the full year 2026. Chiplock will remain in his current role through September 25, providing the company with time to prepare for the transition and ensure continuity across its financial organization. During the remainder of his tenure, he will work with Ameresco's leadership team to support an orderly handover of his responsibilities. Ameresco Chief Executive Officer George Sakellaris thanked Chiplock for his contributions to the company and highlighted the financial leadership team developed during his tenure. "We appreciate the significant contributions Mark has made to our company during his tenure with us, and the strong financial team that he has built and mentored," Sakellaris said. "Mark has been a valuable member of our executive leadership, and we are grateful for his leadership and wish him continued success in his new opportunity." Chiplock's departure represents a planned executive transition rather than a change to Ameresco's current financial expectations. The company reiterated its guidance for 2026 revenue of between $2.0 billion and $2.2 billion. Ameresco also maintained its forecast for Adjusted EBITDA of $250 million to $270 million and Non-GAAP earnings per share of $1.15 to $1.35. By reaffirming its guidance, Ameresco indicated that the CFO transition does not currently alter its expectations for the company's operating performance during the year. The guidance provides investors with continued visibility into management's expectations for revenue growth, profitability and earnings as the company advances its business strategy. The company has already begun searching for Chiplock's successor. Ameresco said it is seeking a new Chief Financial Officer who can join its leadership team and help guide the company through its next period of growth and transformation. The search for a new CFO is expected to focus on maintaining strong financial management while supporting Ameresco's broader strategic objectives. The incoming executive will inherit a finance organization that Chiplock has helped develop and mentor during his time with the company. Ameresco's business is centered on energy infrastructure and solutions designed to help customers improve energy performance, manage energy costs and advance sustainability objectives. The company works across a range of energy-related applications, positioning it within a market that is being shaped by increasing demand for infrastructure modernization, energy efficiency, distributed generation and lower-carbon energy solutions. As energy customers continue to evaluate ways to improve the resilience and efficiency of their infrastructure, companies such as Ameresco are increasingly involved in projects that combine energy management, renewable generation, storage and infrastructure upgrades. These opportunities have contributed to the company's longer-term growth strategy and remain an important part of its operating environment. Against this backdrop, Ameresco's reaffirmation of its 2026 financial guidance provides an indication that management remains confident in its current business trajectory despite the upcoming executive change. Revenue guidance of $2.0 billion to $2.2 billion reflects the scale of the company's expected business activity, while the Adjusted EBITDA target of $250 million to $270 million represents management's expectations for operating profitability. The company's Non-GAAP EPS guidance of $1.15 to $1.35 likewise remains unchanged. Maintaining all three components of the financial outlook suggests that Ameresco is continuing to plan around its existing operational and financial assumptions for 2026. Chiplock's remaining time with Ameresco will also provide an opportunity for the company to maintain continuity in its financial reporting, planning and other responsibilities associated with the CFO position. An orderly transition is particularly important for a publicly traded company, where financial leadership plays a central role in reporting, investor communications, capital planning and corporate strategy. Ameresco has not announced a successor to Chiplock at this time. The company's newly launched search will determine the executive who will take responsibility for the finance organization following his departure on September 25. For Chiplock, the move represents a transition to a CFO position at a private equity-owned company outside the energy industry. Ameresco did not disclose additional details about his new employer or the terms of his departure. The company's leadership expressed appreciation for Chiplock's service while emphasizing the strength of the team he leaves behind. His role in building and mentoring Ameresco's financial organization is expected to provide continuity as the company searches for its next finance leader. The CFO transition comes at an important stage for Ameresco as it works to execute its growth plans and respond to continued demand for energy infrastructure investments. The company's strategy involves addressing evolving customer requirements around energy efficiency, sustainability and infrastructure performance while maintaining financial discipline. With Chiplock remaining in place through September 25, Ameresco expects to have a defined transition period before the next CFO assumes responsibility. The company's leadership team will continue overseeing operations while the search progresses. For investors and other stakeholders, the company's decision to reaffirm its 2026 guidance alongside the CFO announcement is a key element of the update. Ameresco continues to expect full-year revenue between $2.0 billion and $2.2 billion, Adjusted EBITDA between $250 million and $270 million, and Non-GAAP EPS between $1.15 and $1.35. The company will now focus on identifying a finance executive capable of supporting its next phase of expansion. Ameresco described the upcoming period as its next transformation period of growth, signaling that the incoming CFO will play an important role in helping shape the company's financial strategy as it moves forward. Until a successor is appointed, Chiplock will continue working with Ameresco's executive leadership and finance organization. His continued service through September 25 is intended to support an orderly transfer of responsibilities and minimize disruption during the transition. Ameresco's latest announcement therefore combines an executive leadership change with a reaffirmation of its financial outlook. While Chiplock prepares to move into a new role outside the energy sector, Ameresco is maintaining its 2026 financial targets and beginning the process of selecting a new CFO to help lead the company through its next stage of growth. The company's focus remains on executing its existing strategy, maintaining financial performance and advancing its energy infrastructure business. With the CFO search now underway, Ameresco expects to identify a successor who can build on the existing finance organization and contribute to the company's continued development in the evolving energy infrastructure market.
