Requirements
  • A high school diploma and three years of work experience in the modification and maintenance of system programs, the design and development of system software, or the testing and debugging of system software.
  • An associate's degree or a bachelor's degree in a related field may substitute for the required work experience.
  • Ability to perform the listed physical job functions, including frequent seated, upright, walking or mobile, bending, reaching, repetitive hand and arm movements, and fine motor activities.
  • Ability to work indoors and occasionally in confined or cramped spaces or dusty areas.
  • Ability to lift, lower, push, or pull objects weighing 15 pounds or more without assistance.
  • Ability to maintain corrected 20/40 vision, recognize objects at close and far distances, discriminate colors, judge depth and distance, and maintain peripheral vision.
  • Ability to hear and understand conversations.
Responsibilities
  • Implement changes to and maintain Common Data Models for research purposes across the department.
  • Work with other organizations to obtain data required to populate Common Data Models and write and maintain Extract, Transform, and Load scripts.
  • Partner with Project Management teams across the university to gather data requirements for new research projects.
  • Analyze and normalize information related to business processes, functions, and operations to evaluate data credibility and determine relevance and meaning.
  • Develop, implement, and oversee policies and procedures that ensure the integrity and availability of databases and accompanying software.
  • Assist in developing and implementing long-term data management plans.
  • Handle incoming requests for research data queries.
  • Develop and run SQL queries and reports for research data requests, serving as a data honest broker, and verify results for research projects.
  • Evaluate Extract, Transform, and Load tools and solutions as database sizes grow to include more data and different data types.
  • Maintain, modify, and develop Extract, Transform, and Load processes to support projects.
  • Prepare reports for research colleagues, leadership, scientific publications, and presentations.
  • Gather data requirements for new and existing funded studies and work with data owners to determine needed data sources.
  • Work with team members and project managers through meetings and collaborative programming to complete assigned tasks in a timely manner.
