  • The role requires pushing, pulling, reaching, lifting, squatting, kneeling, and bending, including pushing, pulling, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
  • The role requires fine motor hand and arm movement, manual dexterity, coordination, and near visual acuity.
  • Candidates must be able to work around and operate departmental equipment and access and navigate each department in the facility.
  • Candidates must be able to function professionally under stressful circumstances.
  • The role involves occasional exposure to fumes or airborne particles and hazardous materials, and regular work near moving mechanical parts.
Responsibilities
  • Set up and adjust the cutter machine according to instructions and job requirements.
  • Set up automatic cutting programs manually in the cutter machine.
  • Operate the cutter machine and ancillary equipment to cut material to desired dimensions.
  • Evaluate product quality while cutting and make decisions concerning quality.
  • Review job tickets and plan work processes to meet customer specifications.
  • Keep accurate press sheet information, including dates and counts.
  • Monitor the assigned machine during runs to ensure specifications are met and make adjustments as needed.
  • Perform routine maintenance, including blade replacement, lubrication, and waxing.
  • Notify supervision of mechanical or electrical problems and complete work orders for parts or repairs requiring maintenance assistance.
  • Prepare load flags for each outgoing load showing the next operation or destination.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Desired Qualifications
  • One to three years of previous cutting experience is preferred.

Printing company Mittera closing Jacksonville plant, affecting 100 jobs. The Iowa-based company said the loss of a customer prompted the closure. * By Mark Basch * | 9:21 a.m. May 20, 2026 * | 2 Free Articles Remaining! * Business Mittera Group Inc. filed a notice with the state May 18 saying it is closing its Jacksonville plant at 10301 Busch Drive N., affecting 100 full-time jobs. The printing company said in a letter filed under the Worker Adjustment and Retraining Notification Act a decision by the plant's primary customer to move its work to another provider is prompting the closure. The letter said the 100 employees will be terminated between July 17 and the end of 2026. Employees will receive wages and benefits through their last day of employment and retirement and insurance benefits will be provided in accordance with the terms of applicable benefit plans. Des Moines, Iowa-based Mittera provides print, mail and marketing services. The company has plants in 11 states, including Florida facilities in Pompano Beach and Sunrise, according to its website.

Mittera has acquired Rex3, a Florida-based commercial printer, enhancing its services in specialty print production and tapping into the collectibles market.
