A high school diploma or GED certificate and three years of experience analyzing data, identifying trends and patterns, and writing summary reports; alternatively, an associate degree from an accredited institution with a major in a behavioral or social science, criminal justice, mathematics, statistics, or business administration and two years of that experience; alternatively, a bachelor's degree from an accredited institution with a major in a behavioral or social science, criminal justice, homeland security, mathematics, statistics, public or business administration, or geographic information systems and one year of that experience; alternatively, successful completion of the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Criminal Intelligence Analyst Trainee program.
Completion of pre-employment testing.

Responsibilities
Research and collect information, intelligence reports, and investigative reports to identify trends, threats, vulnerabilities, tactics, and techniques with potential impact to Hillsborough County and the State of Florida.
Review, evaluate, and analyze investigative and criminal intelligence data, current events, publications, and online postings related to criminals, criminal activity, crime trends, and the local impact of specific crimes.
Analyze daily criminal activity reports to identify methods of operation, trends, and possible suspects to help law enforcement personnel solve or prevent crimes.
Update computerized crime data files with current information on possible suspects, organized criminals, subversive organizations, and known career criminals.
Prepare and distribute analytical findings through charts, graphs, written documents, and oral briefings.
Generate hypotheses from collected data and professional analysis, identify information gaps, and propose recommendations.
Depending on assignment, establish and maintain liaison with and initiate or coordinate inter-agency contacts among Florida Department of Law Enforcement entities and other law enforcement agencies to acquire and research public and law enforcement records and share information and intelligence in support of the Tampa Bay Regional Intelligence Center's mission.
Respond to requests for information from other law enforcement agencies.
Assess the reliability and validity of sources and information.
Attend or support intelligence unit meetings with federal, state, and local law enforcement units.
