Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • Applicants must be at least 21 years old.
  • Applicants must possess valid authorization to work in the United States.
  • Applicants must have a valid Michigan Class C Commercial Driver License with a passenger endorsement.
  • Applicants must have at least five years of driving history.
  • Applicants must have no license suspensions or DWI/DUI violations.
  • Applicants must have no moving violations or at-fault accidents within the last three years.
  • Applicants must pass a Department of Transportation physical examination and pre-employment drug and alcohol screening.
  • Applicants must pass a criminal background check investigation.
  • Applicants must be able to speak, read, and write English sufficiently.
  • Applicants must be familiar with Federal Transit Administration and Department of Transportation regulations.
  • Applicants must be able to use tablets or electronic devices as required.
Responsibilities
  • Provide non-emergency transportation services in a safe and reliable manner.
  • Provide courteous and professional service to customers and clients.
  • Assist with passenger loading and unloading and with mobility devices from the vehicle as required by safety protocols.
  • Ensure on-time customer pickup and drop-off.
  • Demonstrate understanding and sensitivity toward the needs of older adults and individuals with disabilities.
  • Understand the main roadways and major highways in the service area.
  • Understand highway traffic signs, signals, maps, manifests, and schedules.
  • Complete thorough vehicle pre-trip, post-trip, and driver vehicle inspection inspections as required.
  • Use tablets or electronic devices as required.

  • Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
  • Ability to communicate with others and comprehend instructions.
