Senior Systems Engineer - Linux
About the job
- A bachelor's degree in Computer Programming, Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, or work or military experience.
- At least 8 years of related systems engineering experience.
- Strong understanding of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and CentOS Linux distributions.
- Experience with Kubernetes, Helm charts, automation, Ansible, and scripting or coding such as Bash and Python.
- U.S. citizenship is required.
- A TS/SCI clearance is required.
- Perform complex systems design, development, and integration throughout the systems life cycle.
- Perform complex systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
- Develop solutions to a variety of complex engineering problems.
- Oversee complex infrastructure, including installing, configuring, testing, and maintaining operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
- Prepare and maintain documentation for processes and procedures related to engineering projects.
- Maintain knowledge of rapidly changing technology.
- Serve as a team or task lead.
- Coach and provide guidance to less-experienced professionals.
- Experience with Red Hat Enterprise Linux, YUM, Satellite, and Capsule technologies.
- Experience with the Ceph storage platform.
- Experience with GitLab.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code.
- Experience with virtualization technologies such as VMware, virtual networking, vROPS, and XenServer or XCP-ng.
