Requirements
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.
- A Bachelor of Science in Nursing with proof of at least 9 credits or 3 classes in any graduate program, or an approved national certification related to the content area being taught, is accepted.
- At least 2 years of recent work experience in critical care or complex care nursing is required.
- An active, current, unencumbered, multi-state compact Registered Nurse license is required.
- The candidate must successfully pass a drug test and competency testing.
- The candidate must have the ability to build positive relationships with students.
Responsibilities
- Reinforce didactic content and teach the knowledge and skills needed for pre-licensure nursing.
- Collaborate with content-area faculty to provide expert evaluation and documentation of student progress toward clinical objectives.
- Participate in grading written work and clinical performance check-offs.
- Remain current with new trends and developments in the specific field of nursing practice.
- Maintain compliance with program accreditation requirements.
- Uphold nursing as a holistic profession and support the university's pillars.
- Travel to Grand Canyon University student sites to directly observe student performance.
- Participate in or support the university program in all areas, including alignment with the institution's philosophy and direction and service to the community.
- Provide a positive example to students by supporting the university's Doctrinal Statement, Ethical Position Statement, and Mission.
Desired Qualifications
- A Master of Science in Nursing is preferred.
