  • 8+ years of design-focused, front-end development experience.
  • Deep proficiency and passion for HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
  • A deep commitment toward a product’s craft and quality.
  • A track record of designing and building tooling (e.g. design-tool plugins, CI/CD scripting) that streamline processes for and between design and development teams.
  • Demonstrated capability in optimizations and refactoring across an existing product's UI and codebase.
  • Designed and documented styles, components, and patterns that enable other designers and developers to build features.
  • Deep familiarity with foundational design principles, including interaction best practices, design heuristics, usability, and accessibility.
  • Strong opinions on, and track record in building inclusive, accessible experiences.
  • Extensive knowledge with front-end bundlers, command line interfaces, and package management.
  • Proven experience working with and mentoring junior developers and designers to uplevel design and technical skills, and boost team efficiency.
  • Demonstrated ability to craft compelling narratives and rationale for design decisions that persuades peers and executives.
  • Keeps current of emerging design trends, evolving technologies, and their best practices, with a relentless drive for excellence and continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated track record elevating a team’s craft through active critique, collaboration, and mentorship.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate design concepts and rationale to a diverse set of stakeholders.
Responsibilities
  • Collaborate across product management, product design, and cross-functional engineering teams and tech stacks.
  • Nurture and expand a growing design-focused prototyping practice by identifying design- and code-based skills and technologies to ship high-quality outcomes faster.
  • Design and build design tooling used by product designers and developers, e.g. plugins and scripts.
  • Craft individual experiences or animations that distill a complex topic into a simple concept.
  • Consider in-browser performance, optimizations, and accessibility.
  • Use our Design System’s design language, design tokens, components, and contribute where needed.
  • Bring a high standard of design and execution to a variety of high-impact experiences.
  • Navigate ambiguous problem spaces with confidence, aligning with key stakeholders and leadership to move projects toward impactful solutions.
  • Invest in the Design team’s growth, educating about best practices and approaches across multiple platforms, e.g. desktop, mobile and other non-standard devices.
Desired Qualifications
  • Extensive expertise of multiple JavaScript ecosystems, e.g. Vue, React, and Angular
  • Experience working on B2B applications or AI products in a SaaS environment
  • Familiarity with design and technical concerns across multi-device ecosystems, e.g. web, mobile, kiosks, phone systems, etc.
  • Active participation in the global design community through writing, speaking, or open-source contributions
