Requirements
  • Two or more years of experience in manufacturing, estimating, manufacturing engineering, process engineering, production planning, applications engineering, project engineering, or a similar technical role.
  • Ability to read engineering drawings, electrical schematics, and bills of material.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and standard business software.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities
  • Review customer requests for quotation, drawings, specifications, and bills of material.
  • Develop labor estimates for cable assemblies, wire harnesses, box builds, and electromechanical assemblies.
  • Create manufacturing routings and estimate production labor.
  • Coordinate with Purchasing to obtain supplier pricing.
  • Work with Engineering to clarify technical requirements and resolve questions.
  • Identify missing or unclear customer information and coordinate with Sales to obtain clarification.
  • Use artificial-intelligence-assisted quoting tools to accelerate quote development while validating technical accuracy.
  • Prepare timely, accurate, and competitive quotations.
  • Maintain quote documentation within the enterprise resource planning system.
  • Support continuous improvement of estimating methods, labor standards, and quoting processes.
  • Manage multiple requests for quotation simultaneously while meeting turnaround goals.
  • Use artificial-intelligence-powered tools to assist with developing bills of material, manufacturing routings, labor estimates, and quote packages.
  • Apply manufacturing knowledge to validate artificial-intelligence-generated recommendations.
Desired Qualifications
  • An Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Manufacturing, or a related technical discipline; equivalent manufacturing experience will also be considered.
  • Experience with enterprise resource planning systems.
  • Experience in aerospace, defense, commercial space, electronics manufacturing services, cable and wire harness manufacturing, electromechanical assembly, industrial controls, or high-reliability manufacturing.
  • Experience with Epicor enterprise resource planning.
  • Knowledge of IPC/WHMA-A-620.
  • Knowledge of J-STD-001.
  • Experience with manufacturing routings.
  • Experience with labor estimating.
  • Experience with bill-of-material development.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
  • Comfort learning new technology and using artificial intelligence in daily workflow.

Trexon acquires Power Connector Inc. to expand military interconnect solutions

Trexon, a portfolio company of Audax Private Equity, has acquired Power Connector Inc. (PCI), a supplier of tactical communications interconnect for military applications. Founded in 1987 and based in Suffolk County, New York, PCI manufactures MIL-DTL-55181 and MIL-DTL-55116 connectors for hand-held and mounted radio systems. The acquisition adds power connectors, audio connectors and other interconnect components to Trexon's specialty connectivity offerings for mission-critical applications. PCI's products will complement Trexon's existing portfolio serving aerospace and defence, semiconductor, subsea, renewables and medical devices industries. The transaction expands Trexon's capabilities in specialised tactical communications connectors and value-added services including cable assemblies and electro-mechanical hardware. Financial terms were not disclosed.
