  • Experience owning an editorial calendar, developing brand voice and tone, and writing and editing long- and short-form content.
  • A strategic, data-informed approach to content, using metrics such as traffic, click-through rate, engagement, and attribution to understand performance.
  • Cross-functional experience, including partnering with Sales or Account Management on buyer-facing content and managing freelance or contract writers.
  • Strong editorial judgment to identify what is worth publishing and turn positioning into compelling content.
  • Ability to work across Growth, Product Marketing, Content Studio, and external contributors without direct authority.
  • Audience-first and commercially minded approach, understanding what resonates with readers and how content can support buyers, Sales, and business goals.
Responsibilities

  • Build the editorial strategy, content calendar, themes, angles, and story pipeline for owned social, Growth, and Demand Generation channels.
  • Partner with Strategy and Operations to transform first-party audience and performance data into trend reports, predictions, and other publishable content.
  • Develop B2B assets for Sales and Account Management, consumer-facing brand work, and test formats and channels such as video, social campaigns, and creative brand projects.
  • Own content quality across Content Studio and partner with curators to ensure a consistent brand voice.
  • Publish a year-ahead editorial calendar with a defined B2B cadence and identified consumer moments within six months.
  • Write, socialize, and apply the brand voice and tone guide to live Content Studio and curator output within six months.
  • Create B2B assets such as trend reports, predictions, and performance guides, and establish a working story pipeline for channel execution within six months.
  • Establish content as a contributor to inbound demand with attribution, make brand-voice review a standing function, and begin consumer-facing narrative and campaign work within twelve months.
  • Build TLDR’s owned voice and content approach from the ground up.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience building a content function from the ground up, working in digital media or newsletters, or owning both B2B buyer content and consumer brand storytelling.

About the company

TLDR curates free, daily email newsletters that summarize the biggest tech, startup, and programming news in about five minutes. Readers get concise digests across specialized topics like AI, Web Dev, InfoSec, Data Science, and Product Management, delivered to millions of subscribers. The newsletters are produced by Dan Ni, who bootstrapped the venture and retains 100% ownership after previous success with Scraper API. The business makes money through advertising, selling sponsorships in newsletters to tech companies and brands (e.g., AWS, Cloudflare, Okta). TLDR differentiates itself by offering targeted, topic-specific email briefs to software engineers, founders, data scientists, and product managers, enabling advertisers to reach precise tech audiences. The company’s goal is to help busy tech professionals stay informed quickly and efficiently without sacrificing quality or relevance.
