Adobe shares rise 1.4% as Cramer calls analyst cuts "false", eyes potential squeeze

Adobe shares rose 1.4% on Friday, despite being down 27% over the past year. Jim Cramer suggested potential cuts in Adobe seem "false" and wondered if a squeeze could develop, noting the company's large market cap enables acquisitions. Adobe reported Q3 revenue of $6.76 billion and earnings per share of $6.13, slightly beating analyst estimates. The company's AI annual recurring revenue jumped 150% to $650 million, with overall ARR growing 11% to $27.50 billion. Adobe also surpassed one billion monthly active users for the first time. However, net new ARR dropped 36-37% annually, and Q4 revenue guidance of $6.80-6.85 billion missed estimates. Morgan Stanley maintained an Underweight rating, whilst JPMorgan cut its price target from $340 to $315. Hedge fund ownership declined from 86 to 81 firms quarter-over-quarter.

Adobe vs. CrowdStrike: which technology stock is a better buy in 2026?

Adobe and CrowdStrike represent contrasting investment profiles in software: established stability versus high-growth disruption. Both rely on subscription models but serve different markets — Adobe dominates creative and productivity software, whilst CrowdStrike leads in cloud-native cybersecurity. Adobe reported revenue of $23.8 billion for the fiscal year ended 28 November 2025, up 10.5% year-over-year, with net income of $7.1 billion and a 30% net margin. Free cash flow reached $9.9 billion. The company recently acquired Topaz Labs to enhance AI capabilities. CrowdStrike posted revenue of $4.8 billion for the fiscal year ended 31 January 2026, growing 21.7% year-over-year. However, it reported a net loss of $162.5 million, reflecting investments in infrastructure and personnel to scale its security platform. The choice depends on risk appetite: Adobe offers profitability and cash generation, whilst CrowdStrike provides faster growth at the expense of current profitability.
