Requirements
  • A high school diploma or equivalent, or an equivalent combination of experience and education, is required.
  • At least 4 years of related experience is required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of mathematics and its applications is required.
  • Basic knowledge of AS9100 is required.
  • Intermediate knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance, is required, including Keyence inspection equipment, optical comparators, digital micrometers and calipers, gage pins, ring gages, dial indicators, concentricity gages, and thread segments.
  • Intermediate knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principles used to produce precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models is required, including geometric dimensioning and tolerancing features and advanced knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing features.
  • The ability to bend, stoop, kneel, stand for prolonged periods, climb steps and ladders, work at heights with fall-protection equipment, and lift up to 45 pounds is required.
  • The role requires working around moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, high heat, chemicals, loud constant noise, fumes, odors, dust, mists, gases, and poor ventilation.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to the nature of the defense contracts.
  • Employment is conditional on successfully passing a background check and required drug testing.
Responsibilities
  • Inspect machined parts and products for defects, damage, wear, and deviations from specifications during final and in-process inspection.
  • Use precision measuring instruments and complex test equipment to perform inspections independently.
  • Examine materials and final products, calculate tolerances and dimensions using hand tools, verify conformance to standards, and read work orders, routers, and blueprints to determine product specifications.
  • Document and record quality inspection information.
  • Evaluate information to determine whether parts and materials conform to regulations and standards.
  • Maintain current knowledge of organizational policies and procedures and federal and state policies and directives.
  • Analyze inspection data and information.
  • Answer source-inspection questions as a quality-control liaison for parts submitted for source inspection.
  • Coach and train Level I inspectors.
