FEA Safety Engineering Analyst
About the job
- A degree in Engineering, such as Mechanical, Automotive, Aerospace, or a related field.
- At least 3 years of CAE experience focused on vehicle safety.
- Solid knowledge of the Finite Element Method, material modeling, contacts, and nonlinearity.
- Experience with preprocessing tools such as ANSA or HyperMesh.
- Experience with post-processing tools such as META or HyperView.
- Experience with safety simulations, including crash, pedestrian protection, occupant protection, rollover, and pendulum scenarios.
- Ability to interpret simulation results, including energy, acceleration, and deformation.
- Advanced or fluent English proficiency.
- Perform impact simulations, including frontal, side, and rear impacts, using CAE tools.
- Prepare finite element models, including meshes, contacts, materials, and boundary conditions.
- Configure and run explicit solver simulations, such as PAMCRASH and LS-DYNA.
- Analyze results, including intrusion, acceleration, energy, injury criteria, and failure criteria.
- Evaluate structural performance and propose engineering countermeasures and improvements.
- Ensure compliance with vehicle safety requirements and protocols such as Euro NCAP, Latin NCAP, and RCAR.
- Work with product teams, physical testing teams, and other engineering disciplines.
- Prepare technical reports and presentations of results for clients.
- Communicate and cooperate with the team and clients to provide technical assistance and support.
- Experience with other solvers, such as Abaqus or Nastran.
- Experience correlating CAE results with physical tests.
- Programming or scripting experience with Python or TCL.
- Familiarity with HPC environments, including clusters or cloud platforms.
- Spanish proficiency.
- ANSA experience is preferred.
- META experience is preferred.
