About the Job

Requirements

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or Physics, and 0–5 years of experience in cybersecurity, startups, or tech companies.
  • Ability to write idiomatic, testable, production-ready Go; understand serverless architectures, API design, and databases under real load.
  • Ability to reason about distributed systems, concurrency, failure modes, and data flow.
  • Ability to use AI agents to build responsive, performant user interfaces in maintainable code, with a focus on user experience.
  • Side projects, open-source contributions, or technical writing demonstrating independent building, including having shipped a real project outside a classroom.

Responsibilities

  • Take accountability for overcoming challenges in developing and operating the Praetorian Guard platform.
  • Write clear, tested, durable code; advance engineering standards through code review, technical proposals, and leading by example.
  • Work with offensive security engineers to translate real-world vulnerability findings into platform capabilities.
  • Design systems for attack surface management at scale, including graph databases modeling asset relationships, queue-based architectures processing continuous security scans, and real-time interfaces that make complex data actionable.
  • Ship major features across the Guard platform, build scalable infrastructure, and optimize graph queries and scanning pipelines.
  • Integrate AI tooling into development workflows while maintaining quality and understanding.
  • Turn high-level customer requests into practical features.
  • Own work across the full stack, including CloudFormation templates, Lambda handlers, React components, and Playwright tests.
  • Translate recurring vulnerability patterns into automated detections in partnership with offensive security engineers.
  • Contribute to engineering culture through technical blog posts, internal knowledge sharing, or open-source contributions.
  • Mentor junior engineers and contribute to continuous learning across the team.
