About the Job

Requirements

  • Excellent programming skills in at least one language such as Go, Python, Java, or Node, with production code the candidate can explain.
  • Experience applying Site Reliability Engineering practices, including defining service-level indicators and objectives, using error budgets, and applying these to design and prioritization decisions.
  • Experience designing and building reliable, scalable systems on Google Cloud Platform, including Google Kubernetes Engine, Compute Engine, Cloud Storage, Pub/Sub, virtual private cloud, and identity and access management; working knowledge of Amazon Web Services or other clouds.
  • Experience with infrastructure as code using Terraform or Pulumi.
  • Experience with container and cloud technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with continuous integration and continuous delivery using tools such as Argo CD, Jenkins, and Helm charts.
  • Experience in performance diagnostics, capacity planning, performance architecture design, performance tuning, and performance monitoring.
  • Experience using, maintaining, and configuring monitoring, metrics, and logging infrastructure such as Datadog, Grafana, Prometheus, or New Relic.
  • Experience leading incident response and writing blameless postmortems, focusing on eliminating causes rather than addressing symptoms.
  • Comfort working with modern NoSQL databases and big data platforms such as MongoDB and Redis.
  • At least 10 years of total experience, including a software development background and at least 3 years working with Google Cloud Platform, Kubernetes, and large-scale distributed systems.

Responsibilities

  • Work with engineering teams to design, build, monitor, and maintain systems for high availability and scalability.
  • Define service-level indicators and service-level objectives with engineering teams, track them, and use error budgets to guide reliability work and release decisions.
  • Participate in design reviews and make architecture decisions that improve reliability, scalability, security, and operability before systems reach production.
  • Build security into infrastructure and delivery pipelines, including access control, secrets management, network policies, and image and dependency scanning.
  • Work with the security team to track vulnerabilities and audit findings and resolve them within agreed service-level agreements.
  • Write production-grade software, deployment frameworks, tracers, monitors, and auto-remediation tools, and automate processes.
  • Use AI tools and agents for incident triage, log and alert analysis, runbook execution, change review, and documentation, and build internal tools when off-the-shelf tools are insufficient.
  • Manage cloud infrastructure as code with Terraform or Pulumi and keep environments consistent, reviewable, and reproducible.
  • Lead and participate in performance, load, and stress tests; identify bottlenecks and optimization opportunities; and perform capacity planning.
  • Participate in the on-call rotation and lead incident response as needed; write postmortems and follow through on fixes.
  • Identify repetitive operational work and automate it away.
  • Review existing processes and recommend or institute changes related to monitoring, alerting, upgrades, and tuning.
  • Create project documentation, including architecture designs, implementation plans, design documents, runbooks, and test plans.

Desired Qualifications

  • Experience with Go is a plus.

About the Company

Contentstack

Composable DXP with headless CMS

Contentstack is a digital experience platform (DXP) that helps businesses deliver personalized content across channels using a headless CMS. The platform is composable, meaning it can be assembled from modular components, and it includes a built-in Marketplace, App SDK, and Developer Hub for customization. This setup differentiates Contentstack from competitors by offering a user-friendly onboarding (under 30 minutes), a strong ecosystem for extensions and integrations, and measurable gains in publishing velocity (up to 90%) and developer velocity (up to 80%). Revenue comes from a subscription model. The company's goal is to help organizations deliver consistent, personalized, omnichannel experiences while reducing costs and increasing business value.
