  • 6+ years of legal experience, with a combination of law firm and in-house counsel roles required
  • 3+ years experience negotiating commercial SaaS agreements across a broad range of contract values
  • 2+ years in a start-up or high-growth company
  • JD and active CA Bar membership
  • Able to work legally in the United States
  • English language fluency (spoken and written)
Responsibilities
  • Draft and negotiate SaaS, vendor, and partner agreements; support deal execution and ensure compliance with policies and risk standards
  • Data Privacy: Advise on privacy and data protection laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and assist in compliance. Potential to serve as the company’s Data Protection Officer (DPO)
  • Employment: Handle employment-related legal matters
  • Corporate Law: Maintain legal templates and policies; support audits and certifications (e.g., SOC2); manage external counsel
Desired Qualifications
  • Strong background in privacy law, data governance, and cross-border data-transfer mechanisms
  • Clear, practical legal thinking aligned with business needs
  • Exceptional communication, time management, organizational and people alignment skills. Able to convey legal concepts to non-legal stakeholders
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting
  • Excited to work in our San Francisco office at least three days per week
  • Second language fluency is a plus
