- A Bachelor’s degree in chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science or medical technology from an accredited institution, with eligibility for an appropriate certification examination; or an Associate’s degree in laboratory science, chemical or biological science, or medical laboratory technology with certification; or graduation from a military science program in health science, biology, chemical science, physical science, or medical technology with certification; or grandfathered Medical Technologist qualification obtained on or before February 28, 1992 with current certification.
- Certification as a Medical Technologist, Medical Laboratory Scientist, or Clinical Laboratory Scientist where required by the qualifying education pathway, through an acceptable agency such as ASCP, NCA, AMT, AAB, or HHS (HEW).
- At least one year of experience in a clinical laboratory.
- Ability to implement and perform clinical laboratory procedures according to applicable standards and regulations.
- Must submit to a color-acuity screening test.
- Develop and monitor test systems.
- Perform and interpret laboratory tests for the diagnosis and care of neonate, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills.
