Israeli startup to invest US$20 million to make Brazil its largest global market.

Israeli startup to invest US$20 million to make Brazil its largest global market. Valued at US$5 billion, Wonderful aims to reach US$1 billion in revenue in the country after putting artificial intelligence agents into production to automate a process that other companies had tried to solve without success October 19, 2026 | 09:20 AM Bloomberg Línea - Changing the address registered with a telecom operator usually means days of waiting, a process that crosses several internal systems and often ends with the customer giving up. It was this bottleneck that Wonderful attacked in one of its projects in Brazil for a client that receives more than 70,000 requests of this type per month. The AI agents went into production in seven weeks, in a problem that, according to Rui Duarte Brandão, VP of growth and responsible for the expansion of the Israeli-origin startup, dozens of companies had already tried to solve without success. This is the kind of case that the Wonderful startup wants to multiply on Brazilian soil. The startup expects to invest US$10 million in the country later this year and raise the contribution to US$20 million in 2027, equivalent to approximately R$100 million. The resources will go mainly to talent and infrastructure. Rui Brandão, the executive leading the effort, aims to reach US$1 billion in revenue in two years and make the country the company's largest market in the world. A physician by training, he created Zenklub, a startup that went through a merger with Conexa, and led the mental health area and AI adoption at the company before taking over Wonderful locally. Founded in 2025 by Israelis Bar Winkler (CEO) and Roey Lalazar (CTO), Wonderful sells a platform for large companies to build and operate AI agents in complex customer service and back-office flows. The startup has more than US$800 million in funding and today has about 200 clients in 40 markets, with 400 people in research and development in Israel. In its latest funding round, announced in September at US$550 million, the startup was valued at US$5 billion. Why Brazil. Brandão's thesis relies on the country's size and its potential for scale. "You have the United States, India and Brazil," he says, listing the few countries where a single telecommunications company can have 100 million customers. China, in his assessment, is difficult to operate; the US, very competitive, is left for later; and India, with its diversity of languages and regions, amounts to "several Indias." "We believe Brazil can be our largest market," he said. To move beyond projections, Wonderful is building its structure in the country and promises to hire hundreds of engineers and technical specialists. In the last six months, the startup has won six clients in Brazil and a portfolio of 30 projects in progress. In Latin America, there are about 20 clients, including Mercado Livre in Mexico and large banks in Colombia. Contracts are negotiated in dollars. On average, each use case is handled by a pair, a consultant and an engineer, the so-called forward deployed engineer (FDE), who works inside the client and relies on the platform to reduce the need for large teams per project. Claims, KYC and legacy systems. The pain points that appear most among Brazilian companies, says the executive, are heavy back-office processes, typical of large companies, with many systems and a lot of legacy. He cites auto insurance claims registration, with processing of police reports and vehicle photos, and KYC for corporate clients at banks, which requires checking the articles of association and identifying who signs. Clients in the country are in sectors such as telecommunications, aviation, banks, insurance and energy. To gain traction, Wonderful reverses the logic of corporate software contracting. According to Brandão, the client does not pay for implementation, setup or discovery. The company puts the project into production and only then begins charging. "We show value in production before the client pays," he says. The startup also commits to a no-lock-in policy. All code and intellectual property built for the client belong to the client, who can export them and take them to another vendor. Speed as a differentiator. Asked about the competition, which includes American agent rivals such as Decagon, Brandão responds that the differentiator is speed. "Speed is our greatest value," he says. He attributes the pace to teams that arrive at the client already with knowledge of sectors and processes, such as collections, telecommunications and KYC, which avoids long diagnostic stages, and to a platform that, in his words, builds "everything now" instead of depending on month-long implementations. The platform itself has changed over these 20 months. It began with conversational agents in Hebrew, a language in which customer service outsourcing is expensive and language models need to be particularly good. From there, it advanced to workflows that cross multiple areas and systems and, more recently, to proprietary CRM and ERP modules and code agents with governance layers. The idea, according to Brandão, is for the company to become the client's AI layer, avoiding what he describes as the "lack of governance" of business areas that contract isolated tools. In the case of an operation with technical home visits, says the executive, diagnostic agents reduced the number of technician callouts by 40% in two months. On the impact on employment, Brandão admits a natural reduction in some functions, but says the predominant effect has been another: AI organizes information from various systems so that a person can make the decision in minutes, not days. "We are giving very large companies back the agility they already had when they were smaller."

Wonderful hires executives to accelerate expansion in Latin America.

Wonderful hires executives to accelerate expansion in Latin America. Maria Sofia Nieto arrives as LATAM head of marketing and Rui Brandão takes over as VP growth LATAM at Wonderful. 16/10/2026 11:00 Follow Startups on Google See our news with greater prominence in your searches. Wonderful, a company that develops artificial intelligence agents for large corporations, announces the arrival of Rui Brandão as VP growth LATAM, a role that will focus on accelerating the company's expansion in Latin America. The executive arrives at a time of global expansion for Wonderful, which has already opened operations in around 40 countries and sees Brazil as one of the main opportunities to expand its presence in the region, given the growing adoption of artificial intelligence by Brazilian companies. Recently, Wonderful announced a US$550 million Series C round, led by Insight Partners, which raised the company's valuation to US$5 billion, reinforcing the company's pace of global expansion. The new round comes a few months after the US$150 million Series B, announced in March and also led by Insight Partners, which took Wonderful to a US$2 billion valuation. In Brazil, the expansion gained momentum in May, when Kaszek invested US$15 million in an extension of the Series B. The investment accompanied the opening of the company's office in São Paulo and the plan to hire 50 professionals in the country, mainly software engineers. The choice of Brazil as one of Wonderful's priority markets is related, according to the company's co-founder and CEO, Bar Winkler, to the country's scale and the openness of Brazilian companies to the application of artificial intelligence. The executive has already highlighted that Brazilian companies show a greater focus on the impact of technology on business and customer experience. It is in this scenario that Rui takes on the role of accelerating Latin American growth. A physician by training and an entrepreneur, the executive founded Zenklub at age 26 and led the construction and expansion of the company over a decade. In his career, Rui has also worked in positions related to transformation, technology and artificial intelligence. "What attracted me to Wonderful was precisely the ability to work on the complex problems of large companies, put AI to work for real and open new growth opportunities. My challenge now is to bring this execution capability and this potential to the largest companies in Latin America," Rui says in a statement. The company combines a cutting-edge AI platform with "hands-on" teams that operate immersed in clients, allocating consultants and engineers to turn AI into tangible results in just a few weeks, integrating systems and accelerating business strategy where it actually happens. Wonderful's regional structure now also includes Maria Sofia Nieto as LATAM head of marketing. The executive will be responsible for leading the region's marketing strategy. With a background in B2B marketing, growth and account-based marketing (ABM), the executive has accumulated experience at technology companies such as EBANX and Gupy, where she led marketing, events, partnerships and strategies aimed at large accounts. The company announced in March that it intends to expand its global team from 350 to approximately 1,000 people by the end of 2026, with professionals working close to markets and clients. With Rui leading regional growth and Maria Sofia leading the marketing strategy for Latin America, Wonderful strengthens its structure in the region and inaugurates a new stage of expansion, connecting the operation built in Brazil to the company's global growth strategy.
