Air Defense – Sr. Machine Learning Engineer @ Anduril

The Air Defense team builds robots that find other robots and knock them out of the sky. At a time when air superiority can no longer be taken for granted, the Air Defense Team provides mission critical capabilities to warfighters. From detection to tracking, identification, deterrence, and defeat, our family of networked sensors and effectors enables our customers to rapidly close the kill chain against a broad range of Unmanned Aerial System (UAS) threats. Working across product, engineering, sales, logistics, operations, and mission success, the Air Defense team develops, tests, deploys, and sustains the Anduril Air Defense Family of Systems (FoS) in challenging operational environments worldwide.

We are looking for a Machine Learning Engineer to apply the latest research to solve our toughest problems. This role will be responsible for owning the development of Air Defense specific models.

What You’ll Do

Propose and prototype innovative solutions to solve real world problems, leveraging the latest state-of-the-art techniques in the field
Develop and maintain core ML pipelines
Train and deploy deep learned models for real-time applications
Leverage ML to help evaluate our own system performance live to enable our sensors to interface with systems of systems
Curate datasets for evaluating performance and comparing performance trends over time

Core Requirements

BS in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Electrical Engineering, or related field
6+ years experience developing and benchmarking ML algorithms on large-scale datasets
Strong ML and CV background
Experience deploying models with TensorRT and ONNX
Experience with Python development and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch and TensorFlow
Deployment of algorithms in a compute restricted environment
Experience writing and maintaining automated continuous integration tests
Must be eligible to obtain and maintain a Secret Clearance

Preferred qualifications

Experience in one or more of the following:
- Object Detection, Object Tracking, Instance Segmentation, Semantic Segmentation, Semantic change Detection
Experience in one or more of the following:
- Visual Odometry, SLAM, Multi-view Geometry, Structure from Motion, 3D Geometry, Discriminative Correlation Filters, Stereo, Neural 3D Reconstruction, RGB-D and LIDAR Sensor Fusion
Experience troubleshooting and analyzing remotely deployed software systems

US Salary Range

$168,000—$252,000 USD

The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only. Actual salary offer may vary based on (but not limited to) work experience, education and/or training, critical skills, and/or business considerations. Highly competitive equity grants are included in the majority of full time offers; and are considered part of Anduril’s total compensation package.
