About the job
- A minimum S1 degree in Geological Engineering is required.
- Requires 1–2 years of work experience as a Geologist, Grade Control specialist, or Wellsite Geologist.
- Understand nickel mining processes and ore characteristics.
- Have experience conducting floor, channel, and test-pit sampling.
- Understand ore quality control and cut-off grade (COG) concepts.
- Be able to operate Microsoft Office.
- Hold an active Class A driver's license (SIM A) and be able to drive a light vehicle.
- Be willing to work at a remote site area.
- Have good communication, coordination, and problem-solving skills, and be attentive, disciplined, and able to work in the field.
- Control nickel ore quality from the pit to the stockpile to maintain consistency with quality targets.
- Prepare sampling activities, including briefing the sampler crew and preparing daily reports.
- Collect samples through floor sampling, channel sampling, and test pits for grade analysis using X-ray.
- Ensure ore grade meets the specified cut-off grade (COG).
- Coordinate with the Pit Operation team on mining activities and equipment use.
- Coordinate with the Pit Geologist on the block model and mining areas.
- Inform relevant teams about areas ready for mine-out inspection.
- Monitor ore quality regularly to support production and quality targets.
- Prepare routine sampling and quality-control reports.
- Experience operating mining software such as Surpac and/or ArcGIS.
- POP and ISMKP certifications.
