Requirements
- Must be 18 or older.
- Clear and concise verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Excellent customer service skills are required.
- Must be self-motivated and able to maximize use of time and resources.
- Must be dependable and reliable.
- Must be able to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, holidays, and long hours while the resort is in operation.
- Must be able to work flexible work schedules.
- Must be able to lift, carry, or otherwise move a minimum of 50 pounds on an occasional basis.
- Must be able to perform repetitive tasks and work for extended periods standing, bending, reaching, speaking, and sitting.
- Must be able to work outside in extreme cold weather, rain, and changing conditions for long periods of time.
- Must be comfortable riding all chairlifts and working at heights.
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate a ski lift.
- Remain attentive at the load and unload terminals, including the ramp and all areas around the station.
- Perform opening procedures at the ski lift and lift maze.
- Assist guests of all ages and abilities in safely loading and unloading chairlifts.
- Interact enthusiastically with guests at every opportunity.
- Prepare and maintain a safe and aesthetically pleasing workspace as conditions change by shoveling, raking, and moving snow.
- Complete required documentation, including daily logs, legibly and accurately.
- Work independently or in groups to accomplish daily job-related tasks.
- Maintain lift chairs by removing snow, ice, and precipitation for guests.
- Perform closing procedures at the ski lift and lift maze.
- Conduct and manage crowd control in lift mazes.
- Present a professional appearance and demeanor.
- Follow all skiing policies and codes.
Desired Qualifications
- Skiing or snowboarding experience is preferred.
- Previous lift operation experience is desired.
Crystal Mountain is a year-round mountain resort in Washington's Cascade Range and part of Alterra Mountain Company. It operates skiing and snowboarding terrain, lifts, lessons, rentals, dining and guest services during winter, with sightseeing and mountain activities extending the destination beyond the ski season. Resort employees work across mountain operations, hospitality, safety, food service and facilities.
