ChenMoore's headquarters are in Fort Lauderdale with regional offices in Miami, West Palm Beach, Orlando, and Jacksonville. ChenMoore is hiring Electrical Engineering Interns for our 2027 Internship Program. Through the firm’s paid internship program, you will gain exposure to real-world engineering projects, tools, and processes to bridge academic knowledge with applied practice. As part of the ChenMoore team, you will develop technical, professional, and collaboration skills in a culture rooted in our values: People-forward, Client-driven, and Community-centered. We offer internship opportunities both during the summer and throughout the academic year, with many interns returning for additional semesters and as full-time engineers.

As an Electrical Engineering Intern, you will support our Power Delivery practice. You’ll also have opportunities to work with professionals across the firm and gain insight on diverse areas of expertise and perspectives that contribute to successful project delivery for the community.

Responsibilities:

Work on challenging projects that require collaboration within and among various departments.
Contribute to team projects and individual tasks assigned in the discipline you support.
Prepare project design drawings within MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
Develop project specific detail drawings.
Calculate project construction quantity estimates.
Assist with technical specifications, cost estimates, reports, schedules, and other related tasks.
Learn and adhere to client-specific standards.
Coordinate with team members and client representatives.
Periodic travel to project sites for field investigation and or construction support.
Demonstrate proactive, curious, and positive attitude.
Represent ChenMoore's values through engagement and professionalism.

Qualifications:

Currently pursuing a Master's or Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering, or related field.
Strong academic performance and interest in engineering consulting.
Demonstrated familiarity of engineering or drafting software (Civil3D, MicroStation, GIS).
Ability to quickly learn and apply complex systems.
Willingness to develop in ChenMoore's values rooted in community and client-service.

Jose L. Acosta co-chairs and leads panel at 2026 resilience summit. July 22, 2026 Jose L. Acosta co-chaired this year's Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce Resilience Summit at Jungle Island. He also lead a panel discussion. The event hosted 400+ people in order to explore actionable strategies for addressing local challenges and strengthening South Florida's resilience. ChenMoore was proud to support the Greater Miami Chamber of Commerce's 2026 Resilient Solutions Summit, held at Jungle Island in Miami. The annual event brought together more than 400 business, government, academic, and industry leaders to explore practical strategies for addressing South Florida's most pressing resilience challenges, including infrastructure, emergency preparedness, environmental stewardship, and long-term community sustainability. Jose L. Acosta, Executive Vice President of ChenMoore and Co-Chair of the Greater Miami Chamber's Resilience Committee, served as Co-Chair of this year's summit and moderated the "Storm-Ready Infrastructure: Preparation, Response & Recovery" panel. The discussion featured leaders from the South Florida Water Management District, Miami-Dade County Office of Emergency Management, and FPL Energy Services, highlighting collaborative approaches to strengthening critical infrastructure, improving disaster preparedness, and enhancing regional resilience.
