Requirements
- A degree in Process Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or Metallurgical Engineering is required.
- A Professional Engineer (P.E.) licence is required; a Utah licence is preferred, and a licence from any U.S. state will be considered.
- Four to eight years of experience in engineering, operations, and/or commissioning work is required.
- Experience in mineral processing, metal refining, or related industries is required.
- A high level of analytical ability to solve complex problems is required.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are required.
- The candidate must be able to collaborate effectively with internal teams.
- A solid understanding of health, safety, and environmental principles and applicable codes is required.
- The candidate must be flexible and resourceful in managing workload fluctuations.
- Proficiency in reading specifications, schematics, and engineering drawings is required.
- The candidate must be committed to delivering quality work on schedule and providing support as needed.
- Applicants must have legal authorization to work in the United States.
Responsibilities
- Develop process flow diagrams, piping and instrumentation diagrams, design criteria, and technical specifications.
- Support equipment selection and process planning.
- Provide strategic guidance to engineering teams and ensure alignment with project objectives.
- Propose metallurgical solutions and plan process modifications.
- Participate in test work management, client requirement analysis, and plant performance follow-up.
- Contribute to internal policy reviews and ensure timely delivery of high-quality deliverables.
- Perform process engineering calculations and mass balances, establish design criteria, and develop flowsheets and piping and instrumentation diagrams.
- Support process design and other client deliverables by applying knowledge of work methods and techniques for designing processing facilities, producing study outputs, and coordinating with other disciplines.
- Help develop and implement Primero Americas' metallurgical functions.
Desired Qualifications
- A Utah Professional Engineer licence is preferred.
