Requirements
  • The candidate must be at least 18 years old.
  • A BA/BS in Hospitality, Food Science Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience, is required.
  • Two years of supervisory or managerial experience are required.
  • ServSafe certification is required.
  • Two years of work experience are required.
  • Knowledge of the FDA Food Code and/or the Tri Service Food Code is required.
  • Knowledge of HACCP, safety leadership and investigation, customer service, managing multiple priorities, technical tasks, regulatory compliance, quality control protocols, and auditing and reporting is required.
  • The ability to pay attention to detail in audit guidance policies and understand the client's compliance requirements is required.
  • The ability to distinguish food safety or food quality observations that affect the client from those that do not is required.
  • The employee must be able to climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, bend, stand, walk for extended periods, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, and communicate through talking, hearing, smelling, and tasting.
  • The employee must occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
Responsibilities
  • Perform food quality, food safety, and physical safety audits as required by the United States Marine Corps contract.
  • Rotate among military base dining facilities, including mess halls, kitchens, loading docks, and bathroom facilities.
  • Maintain a close working relationship with mess hall managers and subcontractors on quality and safety issues.
  • Provide mentoring, coaching, and training assistance to mess hall management and employees regarding non-conformance, preparation for client and third-party audits, and contractual requirements.
  • Maintain liaison with Base Quality Assurance Evaluators and other customer representatives regarding project performance and service matters.
  • Perform daily inspections and audits to ensure contractual and regulatory compliance.
  • Assist mess hall managers and subcontractors with maintaining a customer service program.
  • Help drive continuous improvement in customer satisfaction and service to the client.
  • Provide monthly in-service training to hourly employees at base mess halls.
