Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in the electronics field, or a two-year electronic technician resident course at an accredited technical institute and/or military technical training with equivalent electronics maintenance experience on equipment of similar complexity.
  • At least 5 years of electronic maintenance experience, with demonstrated competence through satisfactory progressive performance in electronic maintenance on simulation systems of comparable complexity.
  • U.S. citizenship is required due to U.S. Government contract requirements.
  • Eligibility for a Department of Defense personal security clearance.
  • Ability to work overtime on and off shifts as required and remain on call 24x7 for problem and issue resolution.
Responsibilities
  • Perform duties in the electronic, mechanical, electromechanical, and optical areas in support of an F-16 flight trainer at Isa Air Base, Bahrain, with occasional support for F-16 devices at other worldwide locations.
  • Calibrate, install, maintain, repair, and test flight simulators and other support equipment.
  • Install changes and updates to simulators and support equipment as required.
  • Perform readiness checks on flight simulation equipment and instruments.
  • Conduct and document preventive maintenance checks for simulator and support equipment.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and document simulator and support-equipment malfunctions.
  • Remove and replace faulty equipment and complete maintenance data collection records.
  • Assist with installation and checkout of simulator and support-equipment modifications.
  • Assist with general field-site facility activities as required.
  • Work from engineering drawings and written or verbal instructions.
  • Apply comprehensive knowledge to solve complex problems by interpreting manufacturers' manuals or similar documents.
  • Process items for delivery to or return from Isa Air Base through the assigned shipping processor.
  • Prepare shipping crates, assist with related shipping documents, and verify items delivered to the assigned shipping processor.
  • Perform other related duties as required by a site manager or program management.
  • Provide on-the-job training to Bahraini operators and maintainers onsite.
  • Manage spares and track inventory.
  • Perform scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
Desired Qualifications
  • Experience with integrated multi-computer systems, video generation and display systems, complex digital interfaces, high-density cable and plug repair, software maintenance, and troubleshooting and repair of general training-device peripheral systems.
  • CompTIA Security+ and/or Network+ certification.

CAE reports Q1 revenue of $1.17B, up 6.8% year-over-year, maintains fiscal 2027 outlook

CAE reported first quarter fiscal 2027 results with revenue of $1,173.4 million, up 6.8% year-over-year from $1,098.6 million. Earnings per share declined to $0.10 from $0.18 in the prior year, whilst adjusted EPS remained flat at $0.26. The Montreal-based company generated free cash flow of $104.0 million and maintained a net debt-to-adjusted EBITDA ratio of 2.27x. Civil Aviation revenue rose 5.6% to $641.6 million, though profitability decreased. Defence and Security revenue increased 8.3% to $531.8 million with continued margin expansion. CAE's transformation plan progressed during the quarter, including a review of strategic alternatives for Flightscape and plans to close four to six Civil training centres. The company targets $125 million to $150 million in annual transformation run-rate savings by fiscal 2030. Management maintained its unchanged fiscal 2027 outlook.
