- At least 1 year of experience as a Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetist is preferred.
- A Doctor of Nursing Practice or Doctor of Nurse Anesthesia Practice is preferred.
- Certification as a nurse anesthetist is required.
- A Master of Science in Nursing is required.
- A current New York State registered nurse license, or willingness to obtain one, is required.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification is required.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support certification is required.
- Deliver regional, general, and total intravenous anesthesia for a stable mix of cases, including general surgery, sports orthopedics, complex spine, and obstetrical anesthesia.
- Collaborate with physician anesthesiologists to deliver timely patient care.
- Precept Columbia University nurse anesthesia students.
- Participate in peer-reviewed research.
- Host simulations in the simulation center.
- Participate in grand rounds and continuing education activities.
- Maintain a balanced caseload through flexible scheduling.
- Complete credentialing for privileges at Allen Pavilion, Columbia University Irving Medical Center, and Morgan Stanley Children’s Hospital, with opportunities for cross-campus and specialty training.
