Requirements
  • Ph.D. in Physics or a related discipline
  • Demonstrated experience or potential for teaching with student centered pedagogy practices
  • Demonstrated record of supporting, or potential to support, access and opportunity in teaching and service in alignment with WSU's land grant mission
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills
Responsibilities
  • Provide outstanding teaching at the undergraduate level, mentor students, work in collaboration with other units in the College of Arts and Sciences, be an active participant in the campus sciences programs, and engage in campus service
  • Instruction of introductory to mid-level courses that cover topics such as mechanics, wave phenomena, electricity, magnetism, relativity, and quantum theory
  • Successful candidates must be flexible in their ability to achieve the instructional and general responsibilities of the course assignment, including the use of a broad range of learning resources and technologies
  • Given our student population, adapt teaching methods to engage students from a wide range of backgrounds and interests
Desired Qualifications
  • Demonstrated experience teaching lecture and lab courses
  • Ability to use and develop new teaching approaches which advance pedagogy of physics
