It isanticipatedthat the successful candidate will begin the appointment onAugust 16, 2026.
As a Lectureryou areexpected to provide outstanding teaching at the undergraduate level, mentor students, work in collaboration with other units in the College of Arts and Sciences (CAS),be an active participant in the campus sciences programs, and engage in campus service. This position willbe responsible forinstruction ofintroductory to mid-level courses that cover topics such asmechanics, wave phenomena, electricity, magnetism,relativity,and quantum theory.

Monthly Salary: $52,000.00 to $57,000.00 | Commensurate with experience and qualifications
The ranges shown reflect the 9-month faculty base salary for afixed-term, full-time Lecturer in the Sciences.
In accordance with RCW 49.58.110, the above salary reflects the full salary range for this position. Individual placement within the range is based on the candidate’s current experience, education, skills, and abilities related to the position. Successful candidates typically begin up to mid-point of the salary range.

Required Qualifications:
Ph.D. in Physics or a related discipline
Demonstrated experience or potential for teaching with student centered pedagogy practices
Demonstrated record of supporting, or potential to support, access and opportunity in teaching and service in alignment with WSU's land grant mission.
Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Demonstrated experience teaching lecture and lab courses
Ability to use and develop new teaching approaches which advance pedagogy of physics.
