Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in art history or a related field is required.
  • A background in Pre-Columbian art history or archaeology, or Latin American studies, is required.
  • Zero to two years of research experience is required, although education may be considered.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are required.
  • The ability to manage multiple projects in a timely manner is required.
  • The ability to build relationships, collaborate, and work on teams is required.
  • The ability to set and meet personal deadlines is required.
Responsibilities
  • Conduct research in Getty Research Institute Special Collections.
  • Contribute to the conceptual development of projects by organizing and creating documentation of research materials, including bibliographies, searching for and ordering texts, and writing literature reviews.
  • Assist with ongoing research projects involving Latin American art from ancient to contemporary periods.
  • Assist, as needed, with the work of the Getty Research Institute division of Dissemination and External Affairs, including Digital Media and Content Strategy, Internal and External Affairs, and Publications.
Desired Qualifications
  • A master's degree or some graduate work is preferred; PhD or ABD is welcome.
  • Working knowledge of Spanish is preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Adobe software suites is preferred.
