Requirements
  • A bachelor's degree in a relevant construction-related discipline, such as construction management or engineering.
  • A minimum of 7 years of prior commercial project construction superintendent experience.
  • A valid driver's license with an acceptable motor vehicle record.
  • An OSHA 30-Hour certification and thorough knowledge of OSHA safety requirements.
  • An understanding of construction equipment, including safe operating practices and maintenance.
  • The ability to read blueprints, computer-aided design drawings, layouts, and other documents and ensure that all scopes are completed correctly.
  • Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office products, specifically Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong time management and problem-solving skills.
  • The ability to travel and/or work weekends and nights if needed.
  • The ability to anticipate potential problems, quickly identify issues, and make educated decisions to maintain the schedule.
  • The ability to communicate with clients and provide project details.
  • The ability to manage the schedule, including two-week lookaheads.
  • The ability to physically stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach, and climb in a construction site environment.
  • Compliance with CMMC, FAR, and Accounting Standards is required for all Federal efforts.
Responsibilities
  • Supervise, inspect, and approve the day-to-day operations of civil construction projects.
  • Complete all required on-site paperwork.
  • Coordinate civil construction projects with management, subcontractors, and employees.
  • Schedule, manage, and assist subcontractors.
  • Set expectations with subcontractors and hold them accountable for results.
  • Provide direct accountability for job safety reporting and documentation.
  • Complete reports and documentation required or requested by management.
  • Inspect and secure the jobsite to prevent damage and theft.
  • Ensure a safe work environment by following and enforcing safety standards and protocols.
  • Establish processes and procedures to carry out work and keep the project on schedule.
  • Study, understand, direct, and perform management responsibilities based on construction drawings.
  • Prepare and document job meetings, safety meetings, reports, daily pictures, and logs.
  • Provide physical labor as needed.
  • Accomplish related tasks required at any given time to complete the job.
  • Manage employees who make up the civil construction crews.
  • Ensure that all civil work at the job site proceeds according to plan and within budget.
