Requirements
  • A high school diploma or GED equivalent is required.
  • A current professional license or certification as a Certified Respiratory Therapist, Registered Respiratory Therapist, Registered Nurse, or Licensed Practical Nurse is required.
  • Six months of experience in a clinical services role is required.
  • The role requires communication proficiency, compliance, customer service and client focus, empathy, and stress management.
  • The role requires compliance with HIPAA, The Joint Commission, State Respiratory Care Board, State Pharmacy Board, and all other applicable rules and regulations.
  • Current professional licensure or certification and continuing education unit compliance must be maintained.
  • The role requires the ability to sit, stand, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, and lift or move equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.
  • The role requires frequent handling of equipment, gauges, and meters and physical contact with patients during training or clinical follow-ups.
Responsibilities
  • Educate patients, family members, and caregivers by phone, telehealth visits, and in person as needed about diagnoses, personal care, symptom recognition, equipment use and care, and other relevant information.
  • Complete daily general follow-up tasks, non-invasive ventilation follow-ups, and phone calls with patients, families, or caregivers as needed.
  • Complete non-invasive ventilation setups and home visits as needed and participate in on-call duties as needed.
  • Support the continuum of care by creating or overseeing care plans, communicating with physicians or other clinicians, and identifying and resolving patient care issues whenever possible.
  • Maintain current and thorough knowledge of DASCO equipment and services.
  • Assist with quality control, equipment maintenance, and the daily operations of the Clinical Outcomes Team as needed.
  • Maintain current understanding of insurance benefits, coverage, and patient costs to explain them adequately to patients and caregivers.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the manager.
  • Work Monday through Friday for up to 30 hours per week in a part-time schedule.
  • Work primarily in a professional office setting and also spend significant time in clinical settings and patient homes.
  • Travel as required, including occasional overnight travel for continuing education or meetings at the corporate office.
Desired Qualifications
  • An Associate’s degree in a related field is preferred.
  • Six months of experience in healthcare, medical, insurance, durable medical equipment, or customer service is preferred.
