Requirements
  • A Project Manager for this engagement shall be an Engineer, Geologist, or Hydrogeologist with a degree from an accredited four-year college or university and shall have a minimum of ten years of experience directing and managing environmental projects. An Environmental Scientist or Chemist can also be a Project Manager if they have a minimum of ten years of experience directing and managing environmental projects.
  • All personnel working on project sites must be certified to work on environmental, Installation Restoration Program construction, and Hazardous Toxic and Radioactive Waste sites with both initial and annual Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response certifications as appropriate.
  • Knowledge of OSHA regulations.
  • Comfortable around heavy equipment.
  • Deep knowledge of transport and disposal procedures for safe handling of hazardous materials.
  • Familiar with Environmental Protection Agency standards.
  • Extensive knowledge in data collection and analysis.
  • Ability to prepare reports and correspondence concerning project specifications, activities and status, as well as a customer-facing Statement of Work.
  • Travel within Continental United States, Puerto Rico, and the Caribbean; security considerations include potential for a secret facility clearance and eligibility to obtain security clearances.
  • Background risk designation as Moderate Risk; personnel must be United States Citizens or Lawful Permanent Residents when performing in MODERATE or LOW risk roles.
  • Requirement to be certified for work at environmental sites including Installation Restoration Program and Hazardous Waste operations.
Responsibilities
  • Participate in functional/technical role-based responsibilities and support related to environmental remediation services activities, environmental investigations related to remediation, water/wastewater services, industrial hygiene/safety support, and other support activities, environmental conservation activities, pollution prevention activities.
  • Perform all geotechnical investigations including sampling and testing of soil (shallow, shallow subsurface, and deep subsurface), rock and/or other solid matter; sampling and testing of sediments; sampling and testing of groundwater; determination of aquifer parameters/monitoring of groundwater elevations, and sampling and testing of surface water. Soils tested for both chemical and geotechnical parameters. Groundwater sampling may involve installation and development of monitoring wells. Material testing for geotechnical properties, and soil classification per Unified Soil Classification System. Logs and data submitted shall be Bentley geotechnical and geo-environmental products (GINT compatible).
  • Provide comprehensive base sustainment, restoration, and modernization support including furnishing of all materials, plant, tools, labor costs, and other incidentals necessary to complete environmental compliance, evaluation, management and remediation for vertical and horizontal construction inspections, quality assurance and other Site Reliability Management initiatives as defined in Task Orders; SRM requires environmental compliance evaluation, remediation and permitting during preconstruction, construction, and post-construction phases.
  • Provide base support including office automation, customer interface, and technical support required for environmental evaluation, compliance, remediation, and management; this could include repository maintenance, document and justification input for procurement actions; assist in monitoring contract durations; database maintenance and input to enterprise databases tracking programs; general administrative support including technical assistance in organization and maintenance of filing systems and repository; data gathering and data entry into databases; project review, technical document reviews, prepare scope of work and estimates, and prepare statistical reports.
