C.H. Robinson extends AI agents to ocean, air and customs, cutting quotes to minutes

C.H. Robinson has launched AI agents for ocean freight, air freight and customs, expanding technology it already uses in trucking. The Minnesota-based third-party logistics provider said the agents can price ocean and air cargo, manage ocean bookings and handle much of the paperwork needed to clear US customs. Price quoting is the most mature tool, with agents delivering more than 80,000 quotes for more than 3,600 customers. Quotes that took one day for air and two to three days for ocean now take two to three minutes. Customs document handling time has fallen 23%, the company said. The launch follows C.H. Robinson's $5.8 billion agreement to acquire freight brokerage RXO. Third-quarter revenue rose 29.5% to $5.4 billion, and net income rose 21.8% to $198.5 million.
