Senior Engineer

What is the role 

Full-time role, Monday to Friday with paid overtime, based from our Brisbane office.

We are seeking a Senior Engineer to support, maintain, and enhance client IT environments.

In this role, you'll provide advanced technical support, troubleshoot complex infrastructure and network issues, lead the delivery of IT projects, and act as a key escalation point for the wider team. The duties and responsibilities of Senior Engineer include but are not limited to the following:

• Provide remote and onsite technical support across client infrastructure, systems, and network environments.
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex hardware, software, server, and network issues.
• Lead the implementation of infrastructure projects, upgrades, and system improvements.
• Act as an escalation point for technical issues and mentor junior engineers.
• Work closely with clients to understand business requirements and recommend suitable technology solutions.
• Prepare technical documentation, solution designs, implementation plans, and project deliverables.
• Support solution design, architecture, and technical pre-sales activities, including proposals and tenders.
• Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to ensure successful project delivery and issue resolution.
• Maintain system performance through monitoring, proactive maintenance, and process automation.
• Keep technical documentation accurate and up to date while continuously expanding technical expertise across supported technologies.

Who are we looking for

Successful candidate must possess:

• 5+ years of experience in Systems Engineering, Infrastructure, or a similar role.
• ITIL certification or experience working within ITIL-based service environments.
• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field.
• Strong experience in System Architecture Design.
• Extensive experience with Cloud Platforms (Azure, AWS, and/or GCP).
• Strong expertise in Network Configuration & Management, including TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and Load Balancing.
• Extensive experience with Virtualization Technologies (VMware, Hyper-V).
• Strong knowledge of Security Technologies, including Firewalls, VPNs, and Identity Management.
• Experience with Windows Server and Linux environments.
• Strong scripting and automation skills using PowerShell and/or Python.
• Demonstrated problem-solving and critical thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
• Customer-focused with strong attention to detail.
• Proven leadership and mentoring capability.
• Strong time management, prioritization, and organizational skills.
• Adaptable, collaborative, and able to work effectively within a team.
