- Reads and interprets blueprints, sketches, or product specifications to determine sequence and methods of fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products
- Lays out and marks dimensions and reference lines on material to develop and trace patterns of product or parts or uses templates
- Sets up and operates fabricating machines such as shears, brakes, presses, forming rolls, and routers, to cut, bend, block and form, or straighten materials
- Shapes metal material over anvil, block, or other form
- Inspects assemblies and installations for conformance to specifications
- Follow company policies and procedures
- Follow directions and / or instructions, as directed
- Familiar with Internal Customer Interfaces, as defined by the process assigned
- Process forms and document work by utilizing their endorsement, in accordance with the Quality Management System
- Notify immediate supervisor of any suspected un-airworthy condition noted while performing their duties
- Acquire and maintain hand tools, if necessary, to complete work assigned
- Clean, disassemble and identify components, with normal supervision
- Have a good understanding of blueprints, technical manuals and planning documents with normal supervision
- Apply different type’s conversion coatings and sealants using different types of tools and methods with normal supervision
- Work in conjunction with higher grade Mechanics to further their job knowledge base through OJT with normal supervision
- Cleans work area, when required with minimal supervision
- Read and understand blueprints and technical manuals
- Accomplish basic repairs with normal supervision
- Have a basic understanding of computer processes involved in daily operations
- Other various duties, as assigned

Frontier agrees early return of 24 a320neos in AerCap deal. Frontier Group Holdings, the parent company of Frontier Airlines, has announced a non-binding agreement with AerCap for the early return of 24 A320neo aircraft currently in service. The aircraft are subject to lease agreements due to expire within the next two to eight years, with the returns expected to be completed during the second quarter of 2026. In return, AerCap will agree to ten future sale-and-leaseback transactions covering aircraft deliveries scheduled for 2028 and 2029. The agreement forms part of Frontier's wider fleet initiatives aimed at boosting productivity and strengthening the airline's competitive position. Mass layoff alert: AAR Aircraft Services to close Indianapolis site by 2027. INDIANAPOLIS (WISH) - Illinois-based AAR Aircraft Services sent a notice to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development stating that they are planning to close their Indianapolis facility. The aerospace company plans on laying off 329 local workers on a rolling basis starting on Feb. 15 and continuing through February 2027. AAR provides maintenance and inspection services for a wide range of aircrafts, including Airbus, Boeing, and Embraer. AAR has leased space in the Indianapolis International Airport since 2004. In November, AAR announced that the company has acquired HAECCO Americas for $78 million. Because of this acquisition, AAR is taking over a facility in North Carolina and a facility in Florida. Top videos. Strauss Borrelli PLLC, a class action law firm, is investigating AAR due to a possible violation of the WARN act. This law requires companies to notify employees, in writing, 60 days before a mass layoff would be in effect. AAR filed paper work on Dec. 23, which is 55 days before the first round of layoffs would begin. Strauss Borrelli believes that AAR employees may be entitled to 60 days of severance pay and benefits.

About the WARN Act: The WARN Act is a federal law passed in 1988 by Congress that requires employers with 100 or more employees to provide a 60-day notice of significant layoffs or plant closings. This notice gives workers and their families time to prepare for job loss, seek new employment, and pursue training or retraining opportunities. The WARN Act aims to reduce the impact of sudden job loss on workers and communities by ensuring they have sufficient time to transition. Generally, employees must receive a WARN Act notice if they are laid off or if their hours are cut by 50% or more in any six-month period because of a plant closing or mass layoff. It is possible that a temporary layoff may still violate the WARN Act if it ends up lasting longer than six months. Employers who do not follow the WARN Act rules, either by giving notice too late or providing unclear notices, may have to pay employees back pay and benefits for the time they were in violation. AAR Aircraft Services, the largest heavy airline maintenance provider in the country, will close its Indianapolis facility at the Indianapolis International Airport, laying off more than 300 workers in the process. AAR plans to close its facility at 2825 West Perimeter Road by February 2027, and will lay off about 329 employees in phases throughout 2026 and 2027, according to a WARN notice filed by the company to the Indiana Department of Workforce Development on Dec. 22.
